Thanks! I really don't know what I do to upset these people but at work they yell at me because I say "Excuse me" instead of screaming "GOING BY!" I'm sorry, but I just feel like Excuse me is nicer! And as for the gay guys, yeah, they just hate me because they love Charlie so I have to hear that I was "lacking" and that I was "born without" I mean, I like to think I was born just fine. Then they act like Charlie is incredible. Like they say "Oh, I bet Carlos would be so great in a fight!" And I say "He doesn't fight, he's never been in a fight in his whole life." Then they say "Oh, well all that built up aggression! He would be great" and "Oh, Carlos you must spend 4 hours on that hair!" And it's like HE DOESN'T EVEN OWN HAIR PRODUCTS!! He accidentally called one "princessa" which is his name for me, he had called the cashier at the gas station the same thing that day and I thought it was funny. But not the gay guy, he instantly goes "Oh! I'll have to tell Sam! See if I can make her jealous!!" They all view me as lacking..being nothing...definitely not good enough to be with Carlos. I just get so down about it sometimes...
Thanks Rick! I guess maybe it is just jealousy and I should probably just ignore it but it just bothers me sometimes, I start to doubt myself, I start to doubt Charlie, I just don't understand why people would waste so much time and effort just to make me feel bad. But yeah, you're right, screw them, lol.
^^Seconding that. As an HR manager that's exactly the sort of thing that should be brought forward so you can have someone intervene so you're not working in a hostile environment.
And even if you don't come forward...well, you are awesome and your attitude is something that most people can't carry into adulthood, so pffft to them if they have a problem with you being positive and optimistic. Cynicism is a choice, not a rite of passage, and they shouldn't be jerks to people who haven't made that choice. <3
