in no particular order -- saw Hellboy II, bought yarn, bought other knitting stuff, ate thai food, did laundry like usual, applied to more jobs, read, slept in, watched science stuff on National Geographic Channel.
Now for the descriptions. We saw Hellboy II today. It was good. I still have that stupid Barry Manilow song stuck in my head! I think it was better than the first one because you see a lot more of the characters themselves & their personalities.
I went yarn & knitting shopping yesterday. We also went for thai food too in order to satisfy my pad thai craving. Mike had this really yummy Beef Panang Curry with basil, red curry coconut milk, green pepper and rice. I bought the baby blanket yarn for
sarakenobi's newly announced pregnancy plus some linen yarn to make a stretchy market bag. I also bought a really nifty knitting tool called a nostepinde which is a very low-tech ball winder. (Mike calls it my yarn dildo. Isn't he so funnee? *eyeroll*) It makes a center-pull ball of yarn like a ball winder and yarn swift but it's less expensive and more traditional. I watched someone use it at String Theory in Glen Ellyn and I wanted one. Very cool stuff! I plan to start on the baby blanket tomorrow so I can hopefully have it done by the time the baby is born next year. :)
Here's the linen yarn:

So, that's our weekend in a nutshell. (Help! I'm in a nutshell!) How was yours?
