what can i say the week prior to this was one was a blur in adventure and fun.
my first day back in azusa i actually relaxed, and slept till the late aftrenoon with my lovely chihuahua Inari, as my bedroom was always one of the darkenst rooms in the house. i awoke and putted around the house in a very becoming fashion. Inari nipping at ankles, as I scratched at my chin summizing the amount of difficulty concerning me removing the hall way carpets. which would be no easy task, as there are enormous amount of staple removal.
the next morning, there i was, in my blue jeans with some ridiculous high school day Cure concert t-shirt. On the floor with a hammer, pliers and razor. Cutting, pulling, and snipping my way to clean wooden floors, well aside of the dust that had accumulated underneath the padding. 5 hours later i was in the shower, headed down the road to my grandfathers surprize birthday party, enough said. I dont enjoy beer nor bbq'ed pork. later that evening Mike, my best friend ventured on up and the two of us along with his husband attended my mother's friend birthday celebration. it was this hybrid of new age, catholic blessing, it was extremly beautiful and touching. there was jasmine in the air, candles flickering, and a well with blessed water, it seemed almost fairy tale like. aftre the festivities were done, my mother, mike, his husband chris and i had a small late dinner. as usual we closed the restraunt down with our long stemmed conversations grew up around us like ivy entwining a red brick chimney on some English side.
oh the next few days were absoluely koo koo. I went out with my former TennanT bandmate Martini, to this amazing little club at the Parlour Club on Santa Monica blvd dubbed "Fusion." in which i minced around with a childhood friend of mine Xavier, his boyfriend Ben, Densie who was almost free of theatrics which is a huge feat. The following day I went to dinner and drank several cocktails with the lovely Ana Ultra and Jason D. Hmmm, then there was the Leale family dinner at Cafe Sorriso in Pasadena, which I had a remarkably enjoyable time (shcoking really). The days flew by with such speed it sent my head spinning madly about. I also went to the cinema with Casey(Boyracer?, his other half Garrett, Chuck, Casey's delightful cousin Nicole, and of course Martini. We all went to see Bewitch in honor of my visit. I loved the movie regardless of what the critics are saying its a fun, charming little feel good film. I loved it and drew a conclusion that my nearly life long obsession with all things witchy had even crossed over into my pseudo worship of Saint Etienne.
You tell me what you think?
Sarah Cracknell of Saint Etienne
Elizabeth Montgomery of Bewitched
a little side note:One other thing is one doesnt realize how much one misses friends and family even after the intial seperation, though once a reunion unfolds it all becomes clear- one needs friends and family terribly. I miss everyone already...
