We have power again, which I guess is nice. I was honestly enjoying myself more when we didn't, but the convenience is seductive. I also have a job now, doing tech support type stuff for a small but growing company of insurance advertisers. Actually, they're spammers. They gave me a big speech about why they aren't spammers, but I saw their work yesterday, and it was spam. I feel dirty. -__- At least they only spam insurance agents...unless they get their email lists screwed up.
The pay is pretty good. I'm afraid they really wanted more of a network systems manager than a programmer, though, so after my month of review I might be looking for a new job. We'll see how patient they are with me while I learn their giant and complicated system. Yesterday wasn't a good sign...no orientation whatsoever, they just gave me a list of things to do and wanted them done by the end of the day. Oh, and a huge book on Exchange Server, and forty-something text files giving a terse description of their business practices. But the boss was sick yesterday, so maybe they were planning on doing better.
