new apt, new job. whats next...( new boyfriend?)
I was supposed to sign my lease tonight but Jen had to call and cancel. Her son broke his glasses today and so she was coming by the mall to get him some new ones. I was wondering if she was gonna stop by my store before I left, but she didn't. What better a way to confirm your renters employment by showing up there? But I'll be doing it instead tomorrow about lunch time.
So I got even MORE good news. Tuesday the dm for Motherhood Maternity stopped by my store looking to recruit someone for a manager spot in her store down the hall. Ali was working so she told the woman she wasn't interested but that she'd let everyone else know about it. Her name is Julie and she said she used to work for Claires a while back. So... I called up and left her a message asking about the job and she called me back this morning. It sounded like she REALLY wanted me to come over and work for her. She explained how its not so tedious as our company with all the markdowns, cyclecounts and planograms. Again, she knows about these things cause she used to DO them. On top of all that, I added about 1,000 onto current salary when I told her what I was making and she said they would pay at least 4,000 more! So, that would mean a 5,000 yearly pay increase for me! Also, their managers aren't salaried and get time and a half over 40! Its looking pretty promising so we set up an interview for tomorrow morning. I'm not sure if its exactly an interview, she wanted to know when we could "meet." If she offers it to me I think I'll be giving a notice asap so I can start earning more sweet money for my new place. Now I have to do that tomorrow before heading over to the new place to sign the lease and STILL make it to work for 1. I was gonna try to go in early, but no time for it now.
Also I've figured out what to do about my lack of furniture. Paulette told me about the furniture store that she goes to on Broadway. Shes gotten really good deals there so I'm gonna go there next Tuesday to check it out. Shes paying $52 a month for a year for a new bed and an folding room divider. I'd be there now if they didn't close early.
So now I'm at the library killing time. I have to go home and do some dishes before Amanda gets there. Gonna eat some leftovers cause I'm too beat to make anything that takes too long. She and I haven't done a whole lot of talking since I gave her my notice. And actually NO talking about me moving out either. I can guarantee shes mad at me about it, but what am I supposed to do? I need to start worrying about whats good for Sarah, not the rest of the world.
