gnome rocks my world
so for those of you who aren't in the business of following such events ...
Gnome 2.10 was released today; most linux/gnu users are snarky about gnome. in fact, great efforts have been made to reduce resource consumption, and you have to love the drive for consistency and simplicity. oh, and the blog-panel applet works well :-P
