The backlog of life: Pre-Fanime stuff!
I swear, I need to blog more. LET'S DO SOME BACKLOG ENTRIES:
May 2010
So as some of you know, I only took two classes during the Spring 2010 semester. Those were Immunology and Medical Microbiology. Sounds fancy, don't it? Med Micro was actually pretty easy, I didn't expect UCB to be easy. (I mean, I went there for a time.) How boring. I always knew SFSU's same major was harder. ah well. In any case, I got an A for Med Micro. I had to wait a few days before getting the grade report for Immunology, and it wasn't as if I was in a hurry to find out my grade. I got it about two weeks later after the class ended (May 6th) and I got an A-. woot.
After I ended classes, it's just been a maelstrom of ups and downs throughout this con season. As you all know, or most of you, I'm still trying to get into a CLS program. The big 3 prerequisites are
Immunology (A-, FUCK YEAH), Medical Microbiology (A, FUCK YEAH), and Hematology.
I wanted to take Hematology in the summer, but it was only available online. I figured May 6th was early enough to check. So like a dumbass, I didn't bother to check any earlier, and found it online at Weber University. When did it start? MAY 3RD. WTF. When did it end? AUGUST 6TH. WTF. Aren't summer classes (especially online classes) supposed to be short and, you know, start in the summer? BAH.
So it was too late to try and even get into this online class. Spent a day cursing myself for my lateness. Now I have to take Hematology in the Fall. ;_;
Other than that, I basically angsted on whether my insta-cosplays would come on time, seeing as I ordered them at the VERY END OF APRIL. On a whim, Al wanted to cosplay Hetalia (as we got into the series together recently) and so I wanted to cosplay Hetalia, and we both ended up deciding quickly and measuring like there was no tomorrow (well I did, not Al) and ordered our stuff at the end of April. yeu helped me out lots. Anyway. I should list what I actually did pre-Fanime.
May 14th - Friday!
Holy snap this day was fun. After graveyard, I went to sleep (of course) and met up with friends! Karaoke was from 6-8pm with good friends.
Karaoke! Holy crap was this fun. Lots of energy, lots of goofing off, lots of fun. :D Me, will_orz , hey_poo_guy , Jess and Al had an awesome time. And I wrote down the song list on Facebook somewhere..

Afterwards, we were like, "OH CRAP WE SHOULD EAT." Huong didn't want to karaoke but wanted to eat at this one Korean garage and it aws about time we went. So we looked for this GARAGE RESTAURANT and we found it. :D Ate at TOYOSE, which actually is a garage.
TOYOSE - Place was small, and kinda cramped (it's a garage, I didn't expecct it to be so fancy at least!) but the food was pretty good. Just a bit expensive but it's SF and an exclusive GARAGE. SO AWESOME.
Also, <3 moer time with Al is always awesome.
May 15 - Saturday
Work. XD 8a-430p.
May 16 - Sunday
Work. XD 830-5pm.
BBQ @ Al's! It was a small BBQ, but I love it when Al has BBQs on his grill. <3 Yummy hot dogs and cheeseburgers. always the best.
May 17 - Monday
Time with Al. <3 Today was a rest day, and cosplay timez! I had to get my Chibitalia costume altered and we looked up some places on yelp. One was super expensive and I went to another one where it was not so expensive. Super awesome. I had a good amount of time where I worried about Chibitalia's dress. (It was super long, like where it woudl drag on the floor!) And I worried endlessly for days since my local altering place was all, ;o; it's hard and expensive.
OH WELL. Luckily I found this place in San Jose. <3
I think Al's cosplay came in too! HE GOT GERMANY. :DDDD He needed to get a belt, and I needed Chibitalia's bandanna, and Al also needed boots. So we'll go shopping the next day.
May 18 - Tuesday
Today, Al and I needed to get our alterations. Or at least I did. Al first needed to play an RPG and get all the items go to the surplus store to get boots and a belt to see how it would look on his cosplay. I also needed a bandanna for the Chibitalia cosplay. Our plan was to go find the alterations store we wanted (out of 4) and go to the surplus store to get us some cosplay stuff for Al.
Had to pick up Al's aunt and mom, and we got boots and a belt for Al. Also found the alterations place that could my Chibitalia dress for a good price. Al tried on his Germany costume. @_@ So things were going well for our insta-cosplays! All I had to do now was wait for the Taiwan cosplay, since I ordered that a few days later than my chibitalia costume, due to me being I WANT A CUTE COSPLAY. DX So I was worrying up and down, late at night on whether it would get here on time before Fanime.
Other than that productive stuff, we rested and I went to work for graveyard. T_T Tuesdays are the suck, cause I have to leave Al. ;_;
May 19 - Wednesday
Work from 12a-8aish. SOMEONE loses my fastpass. I am le pissed, since I now have to fork over more money just to get around in the city for the rest of the month. ARGH. Also, I see Al just to see if Taiwan came in. It does.
May 20 - Thursday
Work from 12a-8aish. Went with will_orz to see if I could buy my bomber jacket I saw last week with him. Saw 3 so I figured I could have bought it later. But no, no more bomber jackets. I SUK. T_T I cannot cosplay America. T_T The other 3 future Americas probably heard us.
May 21 - Friday
Work from 12a-8aish. Sleep. This was a pretty damn bad day. Al came over <3 but mom had the car for the entire day cause Gene needs a goddamn sandwich. We cannot watch Iron Man 2. It's too late. And we went to ask permission to take our little cousins to Fanime to no avail. Bad day. -_- ugh.

May 23 - Sun
Work from 830-5ish. Go see Al <3
May 24 - Monday
Lots of stuff today! First we went to eat brecky at IHOP. Then we went to Walmart, Target, the mall and bookstore, and we made sloppy Joes. Yay! <3 Lots of love.

;_; Leave al to go to work at night. Sigh.
May 26-28 - Wed-Fri
Work from 12a-8aish, sleep from 9ish-5ish, eat and do nothing til I go to work. :D And then FANIME ON FRIDAY~ Report coming up?
