For fur baby sitting my sister and parents cats I was gifted with a tri-corn hat, a pair of ghillies, a pair of black knee boots and a pair of fuzzy unicorn slippers for the dolls. Okay I know you people out there are thinking she's lost her ever loving mind. Nope! I'm having fun and making doll clothes is fun for me. I had been considering making a pirate outfit but without the hat it kinda went to the wayside. Welp not anymore. Andrea and Mom even had the forethought to get it plain so I can decorate it the way I want. Way coolness, yes we have the patterns for the ghillies but it's so much easier to have them but I will still probably make more pairs if I sell outfits. last night I had to put the stuff on my dolls, I took the blond I call Lacy and put her in the plaid mini kilt with the t-shirt and white knee socks with the ghillies and Simi in a pair a tight breeches with a stripey top and the knee boots and hat. Okay yes I really have lost my mind but I'm having fun regardless. Today at lunch I'm cutting out the under Jubon the under kimono that is traditionally worn to keep from the inside of the Kimono from getting dirty, kinda like an undershirt or camisol. See I am actually learning not just playing with dolls. I would love to sit down with
cariola gave me a fantastic link on the
history of the dress of Japan for many time periods so I have a lot of info to work with. I believe I need to make a pair of hakama (sp) pants as well. The first one I'm doing is going to be done with the doll pattern as it is with a brocade but later I would like to make one in silk and adapt the pattern to be more accurate and actually paint the silk. Once I tackle it and become well versed in making them for the dolls, I may actually attempt one for my fat butt. :)
Oh and Mom also got me a cute pair of kissing monkey salt and pepper shakers.
