Been a long time, I know. Lots going on though. J is almost done refinishing the kitchen floor and it looks fantastic. He and Z scraped off the horrid linoleum tiles and tar before Z went off to Zurich to stay w/ GnE. J has sanded a whole ton and revealed the very pretty wood underneath all that crap. Frankly, I think the whole salmonella scare is way out of control. I've never made salsa, I'm lazy and just buy it, which is kinda dumb since J and I go through a lot sometimes.

I thought when Mike's parents and grandma and Sara moved upstairs you guys were gonna finish the floors and throw everything out downstairs? No? Did that not happen? I was looking forward to seeing it.

As for gardens, you can do a lot with pots. Plus, since you don't have to worry about things like winter, if it grows, it'll grow all year long. mint and basil are easy starts. Basil like sun, but needs a lot of water. But it has to have really good drainage too or the roots will rot. Mint is hearty and grows like a motherfucker whether you want it to or not. Oregano is also easy and really hearty. Tomatoes don't grow so well in Hawaii...I think the soil isn't quite right or something. Jalapenos would prolly grow just fine. Actually, peppers in general. Peppers are nice, cause you don't need a big plant to bear fruit, our jalapeno plant is only about a foot tall, skinny, and it has 3 good sized peppers on it. I've grown peppers from seeds I scraped out of a pepper from the store, it's that easy. No yard, invest in pots and some place with good sun and out of reach from passersby. drying your own herbs is easy too. Seriously, it's easy. I can talk about this stuff all day.
