Birthday

I would say that this year has to be the most low key, quietest birthday I've ever had. Being my third birthday away from Hawaii, they've been getting steadily quieter and more low key. Mostly because I haven't felt like oragnizing a party or anything in my own honor. It's one thing to do it in Hawaii, where people would probably be asking me ahead of time, but it's another thing to just go around telling people, hey, it's my birthday want to do something with me? Somehow I'm uncomfortable with doing that. It just feels...I dunno...weird. Though my mother informs me that such tactics become increasingly necessary as one ages. Apparently, the older you get, the less you get for your birthday and the more you're forced to advertise if you want anything. Given current experience, I'm inclined to agree.

Anyway, it was a nice quiet day and I liked it. I spent a goodly amount of time online looking at things I don't really need and ended up buying a bunch of books, a ps2 game, and Betrayal and House on the Hill. I also baked a pumpkin spice cake with whipped cream, cream cheese frosting that was really yummy. Sometime this week I'm going to make butterscotch poundcake, possibly as cupcakes, and I think that will satisfy the baking urge for a little while. What I really need is a good pair of jeans, but that requires extensive searching and trying on, so I'm going to leave that be for another time. I also, inexplicably, want a new backpack, sunglasses, and a few other random things.

Mostly though, J and I were bummed cause what would have been an awesome birthday present has been postponed until next week. I'd talk about it, but I'm afraid of jinxing it, so I will be quiet until then.

Hmm...my boss will be gone most of this week...I think I will play some RO tonight. Maybe I can get my damn level. I think I only need another 30% or so. Heh, determination.

Oh, got a B+ on my Irish History paper. Not bad. Yes, I wrote it the night before it was due. What's your point? It came out to exactly 5 pages. If I had another couple of pages, it would have been an A paper for sure. As it stands, I'm pleased.

There are about 5 games for the ps2 that are either out now or coming out very soon that I want. Xenosaga 3, Valkyrie Profile 2:Silmeria, Steambot Chronicles, and Wild Arms Alter Code F are the main ones, but Okami is sooo pretty. I also want Radiata Stories, and it's about cheap enough, but I have to get my lazy butt to EB Games in squill first. Also I very very very much want the Order of the Stick Board Game, but it is $40 and I am cheap. Also, Cobras in the Cockpit looks like it would be incredibly fun for the first few games and then not very fun at all, but I still want to play it.
