heartbreak!

but sort of mended again.

last friday andee took me out to dinner. usually we go out for lunch since he's supposed to get home from work at 12:30, but, he didn't get back till 6 or something, so we went out to dinner. i had been whining about not getting ethiopian food for forever. i guess i must have been whining alot, cause andee was all 'lets go get ethiopian which was amazing because he hates it. anyways, we drove down to the place and were about to go into the parking garage when i realized the sign said it was Mediterranean food, and it had a different name! noooo! My ethiopian! It's goooone! Well, a couple weeks ago i had been checking online and noticed there was more than one ethiopian restaurant in town. I didn't find prices on the website of the other place, or much of a menu, so i decided i liked the ethiopian place i had been going to and kind of ignored it. Well, after finding the restanraunt i liked was gone, i got back online to find this other place. the website of the restaurant that i like is still active, oddly. So maybe they're moving somewhere else. At any rate, i went to the other place today. It was good, could have been a little spicier, but they had sambucas, or, whatever the potato pea pockets are called. i didn't order any today, i wanted to see how big the portion is. so i ordered the vegetarian lunch combo and a soda. it was like 7.90 without tip, so not too horrible. it came with some cheese stuff and a salad, too. The waiter/owner/dude who took my order and stuff was pretty attentive, too. he asked me if it was my first time eating ethiopian, and i said no and proceeded to stuff my face full of delicious goodness. there were people also there besides me! there were 2 ladies there before i came into the restaurant, and 2 more sets of people came in after me. that made me happy. i hate to see a good restaurant empty. so, yeah, my only complaint was that the food wasn't spicey enough. it tasted germanified to me. so next time i go, i'll ask for spicyness. I didn't ask this time because i wanted to see if maybe there was a spice build up effect, and i thought i'd just finish it off as is this time and order it better next time. xD But it was quite filling, a little bit too much for one K, probably good meal for 2 with sambusas. well, 2 smallerish folks, not like, andee folks. I felt overstuffed when i left. xD

so, yeah, im sad that the other restaurant is gone, but im glad there's another ethiopian place in the city. and im excited they have the ethiopian samosas! i was missing them, they didn't have them at the other restaurant. ^__^
