Having only just watched this week's episode...
.....holy hell, I friggin love Supernatural.
You bros were right. This episode was made for me.

I love when a show can poke fun at itsself without being annoying. Or share in some joke that only fandom knows about. Or acknowledges that yes, Virginia, there ARE slashers. Buffy and Angel were awesome at doing that, and Supernatural keeps the tradition going.
And man, thinking about where we were during Season One to where we are now....complete 180 character-wise. Only, Dean manages to stay the best even with the shift. Bwah! But really...Season One is still probably my favorite. Despite the lack of Castiel. Possibly because I watched it so many times. Possibly because, having taken the ride over the past years with the boys, Season One is like a look back on simpler times and simpler missions.
Just salt and burn EVERYTHING.
