I am not feeling hip to the jive. At all.
Blaaaah.
I saw The Dark Knight last Friday. Will see it a couple more times, most likely. I held off on talking about it because I have a tendency to be all 'aaah zomgbbq best thing EVAH' when I first see something and then rethink it later.
So, almost a week later, and I still have a OMG SO GOOD BEST MOVIE EVAH opinion about the movie. Because it was seriously THAT GOOD. Honestly. People are saying the hype is due to Ledger's death. Maybe a bit before it opened. But the movie is not pulling in millions because of it. It's pulling in millions because the acting is brilliant, the storyline is amazing, the filming was a thing of beauty, and everything came together to make a god-honsest incredible film.
I don't really compliment movies without criticizing them anymore because I think most movies leave much to be desired. I scoff. But The Dark Knight did not let me down. In fact, it proved to me that it's still possible to make a good live-action movie. Yay!
Oh, Joker, how I love thee. Oh, Batman, how I love thee as well. Crazy bastards.
Also, Christian Bale is awesome. And hot. In a wolfish way. Seriously, the man reminds me of a wolf, sexy manbeast that he is. (Note: he was not always like this. The first time I saw him was in Velvet Goldmine. Ugh. Just....no. Glam does not suit him).
In other news, I want a hyena. Or to work with hyenas. They are just the darn cutest things ever. And their silly laughs! Oh! Now there's an animal I can really connect with. Puggish, sturdy short things with bad hair and a tendency to chortle at everything.
