Pools make me happy. I used to spend all my time in our pool with my grandfather, half of my summer underwater and it never got old. I was swimming in the deep end by the time I was four, a never-ending trench of eight feet, back and forth across what seemed like a good chunk of the ocean. I would wear my mask sometimes, to glance around and try to catch stray lines of sun. Sometimes I wouldn't, just scrunch up my face and dive under- opening my eyes every so often to make sure no sharks or mermaids or selkies had wandered in without my notice. Just in case, you understand. Then I'd float to the top, hating the need for air and wishing for once not to fly, just to breathe water so I could stay under forever. Then I'd watch my hair drift by, long and past my waist at the time. Like seaweed or kelp or anything else I could think up.
Now I mostly just do laps across a plactic lined pool. Ah, me.
Anywho, taking a break from the spawn because sin_of_pride tagged me =P
