Decided to switch my hair stylist to Shunji Matsuo after a series of trichological mis-haps: involving hair UN-mechanics and umpteen not-so-subtle suggestions of "Evanda is sooooo good, YOU MUST TRY HER!!"
My hair has been dumpy lately -- read -- hard to style cos it just wasn't layered right. So after i style it, it resembles a house of poker cards (on my head) that must be carefully balanced on my hair till i find my hair-spray to quickly freeze-fix it. Usually, I just keep my hairspray beside me. But by mid day or end day, the style becomes a dumpy mushroom head ... very very very UN-COOL.
PLUS, when i walk around town, I realise that the trend is to go for shorter sides and less 'styled' shorter hair. Having not 'changed' my length for 1 yr or so, decided to have a slightly younger and lighter look. Out from my wish list: long sideburns, long long fringe and over-styled jap hair. Time to limit the number of hair
products too. It's down to basics this yr -- in line with the sombre economy and my new desire to be a better me (like turn over a new leaf).
Everyone knows *that* Shunji Matsuo in Wellington Building beside heeren. One sure sign of knowing that the salon you are going is good will be the number of audis/mercedez/bmws parked outside. (But then again, that's indicative of how rich the hair stlists are, but that's another matter altogether).
I went in, all smiles and asked for Evanda. (Has a nice, mystical ring to it...somewhat)
She was absolutely lovely. Very personable, very friendly and very sympathetic to all my complaints about my hair ... etc etc etc. She nodded and nodded and nodded and said, "I think a shorter cut will do it right". In between chit chat and gossips about mutual friends and one too many drunk romps, she got the job done right -- the first few times i am actually ok with a school boy kinda hair style.
Ta-dahhhh (paiseh.. my lap top camera is a bit wooky n a little over-exposed... taking a better pic soon. ;-)
