It had been awhile since Martha had seen James - a name she was still getting used to calling him. They had both been busy, she with her usual senatorial duties and he with the pressures of being one of the Oceanic 6. It was no surprise that when the opportunity to get together presented itself, they both jumped at it.
With James already on a flight to Washington, Martha spends her rare free time flipping through old photo albums, trying to remember exactly what it was like to parent a toddler so she could better assist James on his quest to find the perfect gift for his daughter. She also, of course, spends possibly too much time tidying up her apartment, as she always does.
She has told him to meet her at the apartment - Dulles airport is a bit too public and they're both so high-profile right now - and by the time he arrives, she's dressed and ready to go, wearing a red sweater with a black skirt, her hair down and just past her shoulders, tapping her foot anxiously.
