Bottles of butterbeer clinked against each other happily as the Slytherin Common Room celebrated their Quidditch victory over Hufflepuff. They had not lost a match yet and this year looked like Slytherin's turn to get their name on the House Cup. An overdue bit of recognition that should have been theirs every year since they started at Hogwarts six years ago.
Narcissa clapped happily and gave Lucius a chaste peck on his cheek. He had been an excellent captain out there. Lucius looked proudly at his team. They had trained harder than ever and they were all in tip-top shape. They had every right to celebrate. He smiled at Rodolphus and Bella, who, in the excitement of winning, seemed to have momentarily put aside their differences. Across from them sat Rabastan with "the adopted Slytherin" comfortably nestled in his lap. Tom was congratulating Alecto on her making it past the Hufflepuff Keeper four times and Augustus was lavishly complimenting Amycus, who seemed to be torn between pride and the desire to run. Regulus had left earlier with Dorcas. Evan sat on a separate couch, sandwiched between two of his most adoring fans.
"You were amazing out there, Evan," Tracey said, tugging on his collar.
"Yes, you should look at going professional someday," Arabella added, batting her eyelashes at him.
Evan smiled laughingly right before someone in front of him cleared their throat. He looked up at Daphne, who stepped up to him and pushed Tracey away with one hand. Tracey slipped and fell to the floor. She glared up at Daphne, who placed her hands on her hips and glared at Tracey. "Got a problem, halfblood?" Daphne asked, raising an eyebrow.
Tracey muttered angrily before getting up and leaving the Common Room. Daphne turned to Arabella, but she had disappeared. Evan grinned up at her and tugged on the hem of her skirt, bringing her closer to him. "C'mere, you."
She leaned forward slowly, stopping about an inch away from his face.
"I love it when you are possessive," he whispered. He made to kiss her, but she turned her head away.
Evan tilted his head as he held her close.
"What's this about?" he asked, fingers dancing on her back.
"You've been kissing halfbloods," she accused, making sure he couldn't kiss her.
He grabbed the back of her head. "I only kiss you now," he muttered. He saw the flash of a smile on her lips before he pulled her head down to him. Evan pulled her closer, forcing Daphne to have to place her knees on the couch. She ended up straddling his lap, hands around his neck. She broke the kiss and leaned her forehead against his.
"Good."
Evan chuckled and traced the side of his face. His eyebrow raised as he caught Amycus' eye. "I think we have an audience," he whispered. Daphne looked around.
"Not that we mind," Rodolphus grinned. Bellatrix hit him. "Ow!"
Daphne smiled at Rodolphus, before climbing off Evan and tugging on his hand. Evan grinned and let her pull him up. She laughed as she dragged Evan up the stairs, hand wrapped around his tie. Once they had disappeared, there was soft giggle from Rosalind. She and Rabastan followed suit, disappearing up the stairs. Lucius turned to look at Narcissa, who smiled demurely and looked down. "Would you like to take a walk, then?" he asked softly.
Narcissa looked up and beamed at him. She nodded. "I would love to," she answered. Lucius took her arm and they left the Common Room.
Rodolphus turned to look at Bellatrix, smile wide on his face. Bella was looking at her nails. "Don't even think about it."
