I took Caelan to see TMNT today. It was awesome. I never read the comics as a child, but I'd seen the various animated incarnations as well as the live action version from 1990. This movie is the best of the lot. Definitely closer to the source material and it wasn't too violent for Caelan. We were the only people in the theater and it was nice to let Caelan loose to laugh and talk and ask questions, especially since he gets in trouble for doing it too much in class.
This was Mako's last project; it was great to hear his gravely voice one last time. It was also nice to see (hear) Sarah Michelle Gellar without that idiot husband of hers. Patrick Stewart and Laurence Fishburne are also featured. I'll be buying this when it comes out on DVD. It will go on the shelf next to the 90s version that we still watch on occasion.
