FPS in 2007
mainly doing this for myself... so that when i finally build a new pc i'll remember some of the titles that looked promising.
so far it looks like 2007 will be an amazing year for pc gaming (at least in regards to fps.) some of the more interesting titles that should be coming out in 07 are:
-Half Life Episode 2 - Hopefully... unless it gets pushed back
-Interstellar Marines - Based on the Unreal 3 Engine. Don't know much about gameplay other than you will be able to play cooperatively with up to four ppl. Also the graphics look stunning.
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl - Its been in the works for a WHILE. kinda disappeared for a bit, but the release date has been confirmed. Not sure how it will look graphically, but gameplay sounds promising. Basically you're a "stalker" gathering stuff for the remains of the chernobyl nuclear facility. you interact with other stalker, wildlife and various other types of npc's who actually have their own goals etc... so they don't just sit idle until you happen to stumble upon them. to state it simple they are supposed to act like real ppl/animals.. whatever their supposed to be, with real goals and emotions. If they can pull it off it should be an assload of fun.
-Halo 2 - Finally ported from the xbox. Probably enhance visuals and such. the only probelem is you'll need to have vista to play it (idk why). but for many who want DX10... u'll have vista
-Crysis - I can't wait for this one. amazing graphics and great effects/physics... you can now mow trees and shit down with ur machine gun... just an ton of environment interactiveness(is that a word?)If it lives up to the hype.. this is a must have.
-Unreal Tournament 2007 - This one doesn't really interest meas much, but its worth mentioning. New Unreal 3 engine looks nice. I think i heard that it will support Physx cards for enhance effect physics.
-Timeshift - Nice looking fps. You have the ability to stop, slow, and reverse time (*coughprinceofpersiacough*) but it looks like fun. worth checking out at least
-Haze - Don't know much about it except that the trailer looks sweet. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
- Kane and Lynch: Dead Men - Its a 3rd peron shooter tyep deal. From the makers of Hitman. Don't know much but it could be fun.

-Call Of Duty 3- j/k.. fuck pc gamers.
