Long Time Coming

Aug 29, 2007 01:30

Wow it has been a long time since i have posted so i have a lot to catch you up on in my life... First, if you didn't know my sister got married in Cozumel, Mexico on August 4th 2007 and i was there for vacation for 7 days. It was the most amazing place i have ever been the waters were so blue and the atmosphere was just awesome. I would like to make it a yearly trip eventually if possible monetarily. I would also like to make it a yearly meeting of the LBK crew of old since we all seem to be going our different directions it would be nice to keep in touch since all of you are such close friends. Second, While in Mexico I apparently was a stud and met 12 girls and the last one was the best so i might have a new lady in my life we have only been on one date, but she goes to SMU meaning her parents are loaded and she is only an hour away but i will be a lot closer to her in the near future since i will be moving to Dallas. Third, If you don't know Aaron i leaving LBK to come to Dallas to be a plane flyer haha i like saying it that way anyway him and myself are going to be bacheloring it up in the big d so you all should come visit when we get all set up and rich. Fourth I started class like im sure many of you did on monday, but this is the first time since i started college that i was excited to begin i am finally to the classes that i am very interested in and i am going crazy to start some projects. My teacher basically told me that i was a lazy bum and needed to kick it into gear big time. So I am beginning work on my own website which i hope to be up by the end of october and i will be in about 3-5 gallery's this fall so i will send you the links to the on-line ones so you may check them out and hopefully offer some good constructive criticism. I was also told that if i didn't see at least 10 exhibitions this semester that i would be stupid considering we have a very world renowned gallery right here only 50 miles away. Oh this was exciting my new professor talked about doing this thing called an "Art Attack" where we will all load up and go to some podunk town and find an old beat up un-used store and clean it up bring a generator and some clamp lights paint the walls white and then go teach photography to the high school for a week then have a big gallery of the high school kid's work and our own with a big BBQ and music for the whole town to get the joy of art back into the world and to give something back to the community. I thought that this was an awesome idea and i can't wait to do it. Also he said at his other school they used to bring some money together and rent a U-Haul and put up walls in it and put track lighting in it and christmas light on the outside and make a mobil gallery for people to come in and see some of our work and talk to us about the work. In ohio where he is from he said one winter his school did this and in negative 20 outside the brought 800 people through the U-Haul in 3 hours. think of what could be done in a big town like dallas and to make smaller prints of them and sell them too for like 50 a pop. We could make some bank... Anyway i have been rambling but i think all the artist that read this such as steve, angie, mike, and myself to name a few should get together some time take a two week road trip and just make our own gallery and drive around the country selling our stuff. Just a thought... Well talk to you sexy people later

p.s. steve you will get my website address as soon as it is up since you wanted to see some stuff of mine hopefully it will help
