[The communicator flicks on as Romana tosses it onto her bed, somehow landing on her pillow in a way that you get just enough of a look of the room to tell what's going on. It jostles slight as Romana sits down on the bed, groaning softly as she reaches down to unlace her boots, wriggling her toes once they're free. There's worse aches in her body

She's still dozing btw]

But there is someone else staring as she dozes.

Yeah she's screaming]

But at the scream coming from the living room, America stumbles in-- and sees nothing.
...Except Namine's pony staring at the communicator. Oh. With a sigh, he wanders over and starts pushing at the pony's face. ]
Nah, Paintbrush, c'mon. Save the creepy staring for France. He's gonna need it.
[ The pony doesn't budge much but continues to stupidly stare. America just gives up and flops on a nearby chair, slurping some soup straight out of the can.
Meanwhile
the staring continues. ]

And for as long as the staring goes, so does the screaming. Nooo her soul, don't look at it please. So indecent...
And then there's a loud thunk as Romana finds the strength to throw the communicator away, the item hitting the wall]

The screaming is expected whenever the damn Shetland wanders into the house, but America's almost impressed how prolonged it is. Only when it's stopped by what sounds like a loud thump does America lean over. ]
Everything okay?
[ He can't really see anything so he doesn't realize that it's Romana he's talking to. ]

Yeah she's not touching that thing ever again, what if it's there. But she will shout, in a clear Italian accent] No! No it is not!

Remain calm! Don't panic, grab a towel, you'll be okay! You've broken eye contact so you should be feeling fine soon!

A towel?! Why do I need a towel?! [Checking her bandages, no she's not bleeding, what the hell America] What was that thing?!

[ hush he's allowed to make pop culture references that have no relevance yet. ]
Oh, that's Namine's... er, my, pony. Paintbrush.
He likes to stare at things.

[Everything is confusing and hurts. Her mind.]
...You called your pony- wait no, you called you creepy, psychopathic, demonic pony Paintbrush?
... And you should teach him how rude that is. Staring.
Reply
[ That is America's perpetual state of existence. ]
I didn't name him! I just take care of him now! And he's not psychopathic! Just kinda stupid. It creeped me out at first but now I'm more used to it. Now it's kinda cute.
[ Note that America also thinks zombies, vampires, and half of the monsters around the city are cute. The pony unnerving him is a bit of a feat. ]
Tried to stop the eyes thing, like trying to lure him away or carrying him to a new pasture or something, but he keeps just... appearing right back where I took him from. Oh well!

[Oh god she can feel a headache coming, it's like talking to America...]
It's a stupid name, and he's a creepy horse. It should be put down. Soon. It sounds like a demon horse.

[ more than she knows. ]
I didn't name him! [ He sounds strangely defensive about it. A pause, then hesitantly, because it still sounds strange when he says it out loud: ] My ah... daughter, did. He was hers.
He's a perfectly placid pony aside from the staring. It's not like I need to take him out behind the shed like Old Yeller!
Reply
[This explains why her head hurts so much...]
Then whoever did... oh. [Pauses, before softly sighing] I guess it would be a suitable name to a child...
He's still creepy. Normal horses don't do that... And who's Old Yeller?

She um. Liked drawing. And painting. So... [ and she was technically like two years old despite having the body of a 15 year old. AMERICA DOESN'T REALLY UNDERSTAND. He misconstrued every single thing Namine said, to no one's surprise. Whatever, he sorta just trails off, because thinking about her being gone makes him sad 8( ]
Saddest movie ever about a boy who loves his dog but it gets rabies so he has to shoot it. It's not like the staring is rabies! It's perfectly harmless. It's what makes him special from all the other horses.
