It's Thursday!

So, it is finally Thursday!! This is seriously my favorite day of the week. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are so jam-packed and always make me want to quit school that Thursdays are my only light at the end of the tunnel. They are a welcome break and chance to catch up on stuff.

So, I did join the Arabic class. I have had absolutely NO TIME to spend on it, though, so when I come to class I always sit there and never contribute and hope that he doesn't call on me. However, the girl who sits next to me (Rachel, who I became fast friends with on the first day we met for class) studies on her own, and hangs out for hours on end with a guy we met last week who spent a year in Egypt, so she's ahead of all of us. But, anyway, today I'm gonna have time to study.

These last two weeks have been THE HARDEST in recent memory. I have felt like I was on "log off" mode, and I didn't allow myself to "shut down" until last weekend. I saw Life is Beautiful--beautiful, sad, inspirational movie--on Friday and Saturday. (I feel asleep on Friday.) Everyone should watch that movie. Yes, it is in Italian with English subtitles, but it is so good and the little boy is the cutest little boy I have ever seen. I also saw Mean Girls on Tuesday. That is such a great movie!! I was not expecting it to be well-acted, funny, AND have a message! Oh, it was so good!!! Definitely recommend that movie to people, too.

The Iowa State Daily finally called me on Tuesday to do a story, but I didn't get a chance to call them back until the next day so they found replacements. However, I'm excited that they did call me and that I will soon be an official Daily reporter.

My parents called me on Tuesday to tell me that it is very likely that we will go skiing over Thanksgiving Break, which sounds wonderful. Since we get an entire week of school off, I can work that first weekend, or sleep, or go visit friends out of state or whatever, and then fly out of Des Moines on Tuesday and come back Sunday. I can see my family, study, and just get away.

My friend Niki is coming to visit me in two weeks!! ahh!! I'm hoping that my brother will go with her, but he has a lot of stuff going on. I miss him! He is such a great guy, he really is. I'm really thankful that we are finally becoming "friends" after all these years. Sadly, it had to happen when we no longer live in the same state, and he's seriously thinking about going to college in Arkansas instead of Iowa, now, so we are going to have a long-distance friendship for the rest of our lives... Okay, sorry to get sappy on whoever reads this.

You know what I'm discovering? Biology is really interesting. Maybe I'm supposed to become a doctor... No, I couldn't deal with the math, chemistry, and everything else that goes along with it. However, I would like to take another Biology course before I graduate (if I can fit it in my schedule).

But, yeah, I guess I'm gonna go take a shower and clean my room and do laundry and study and just enjoy my day off until 5:00 when I go to work!!
