No Miss, I won't be eatin' any more chocolate, no matter how good it tasted!
[Thank goodness Thom is a head and shoulders above other dogs in that regard. The action-consequence link was strong, even when there was a time gap.]
Oh yes, I eat lotsa meat! But my owners always fed me lotsa other things, vegetables an' plants an' treats. I like cupcakes too. An'raw carrots, an'grapes, an'bones, an'....
[She giggled; that was all they needed, an energetic dog running around, letting his carnivorous instincts take over ... Wow, that was harsh Kate.]
You probably would not want to drink too much. It makes my heart beat really fast, I did not like it.
Dogs cannot eat chocolate? I do not think you are missing much ... it is quite bitter; like coffee actually.
[Kate's world still drank chocolate as a spicy drink with peppers and cinnamon; they hadn't figured out the whole sweet chocolate thing yet.]

That is not good ... you better not eat any of it then. I am sure we can get you other sweet things ...
But are not dogs supposed to eat meat?
[What do you expect, she's used to murderous wolves, not cute puppy dogs. She trusted him, but still thought he was the anomaly.]

[She kept laughing.]

[She was saying these things to find more connections between them, so she could change the image in her head.]
