The Unkindest Cut of All

I found out today that I will soon no longer be a lowly temp, but a full-fledged member of the PSS corporate slave culture. In exchange for all additional monetary compensation and benefits contained therein, I am required to cut my hair. I’ve been meaning to do so anyway, however it is annoying to be forced ( Read more... )

You need to go to a girly place. For hair like yours, regular barbershops just aren't going to know how to cut your hair. When you go to a girly place they won't even give you a choice. The stylist will take one look at you and say, "I know exactly what you need. You're going to look gorgeous. Now sit still."

Lots of guys go to stylists. I wouldn't say it was UNmanly at all. I think it just takes a lot of guts.

By the way, I would love to get my hair cut in the captain's chair. For some reason, that just sounds really funny to me. Like they serve fish and chips while you're waiting your turn or something. Hair Cuttery/Eatery.

she's right. no stylist would dream of cutting it too short to be curly--unless he or she was the crappiest stylist of all. but it'll be a leetle pricey. still, better than being insulted by moronic barbers and their halfwit clientel.

and the hair cutter/eatery is a fantastic idea--except for all the hair in the food. still, i'm never so hungry or thirsty as when i sit down at the salon and know i'll have to be there for a while.

Personally I'd be all about it. However, it would seem odd showing off my new coif when I smell like hushpuppies.

Yes, I'll have the crab legs, a sweet tea, and a little off the top.

Hey Tara, you've got cool hair, do you know of a good place? And how much does this sort of thing cost?

Thank you! But sadly, the truth is that I never go to salons. Haha...I feel kinda silly having given you such advice, when I am so actually so untrustworthy of others doing my hair that I have a close friend of my sister's cut mine whenever it needs it. If you notice, I keep my hair pretty shaggy and unkempt most of the time. I completely know where you're coming from with not liking the whole hair cuttery thing. I've always absolutely dreaded it.

But I can ask around for you. Kristi's girl does absolute wonders with her hair.
