Fuck all those people who think that they can just sit back and let the world fly by without giving a shit about anybody else. Fuck all the people who throw money at problems without learning about what is going on in the world. It's not that I think you don't support me, I just hadn't heard your opinion. And it's good to hear the opinions of those you love, even if they are not what you want to hear.

By the way, congrats on getting to go to PQ! I'm super-jealous that I don't get to come with you, I was really excited about the idea of getting to spend time with you this summer and finding all the french stored in the back of my brain!

conviction. good for you! you'll be the conduit for the rest of us who aren't there. you're about to give a first-hand view of another sector of the world that the rest of us are ignorant of, and you'll make us aware of the plights, the terrors, the triumphs and the glory of that piece of the world.

could we, your friends and family deny that? would we want to? simply by going there and doing what you can and sharing your experiences back with us, you're educating us and giving us as close a glimpse as some of us will ever get. you'll be sharing 'perspective'.

that truly is priceless.

I'm glad you see my experience as one for you as well. I wish more people would just acknowledge what we are doing and learn from it. I guess most are, but I just got a "return to sender" in the mail from one of my close aunties and it was obviously opened. It was sent mid-March, on the front where the post office stamps it, it is marked "refused by addressee". Poopy. poopy people. On the other hand the relative that pissed me off 2 summers ago by feeding my dog a pigs head sent me $50. So it just puts me wondering what is in people's minds. And I am happy to spread the word to all that will listen and those who close their minds, well, maybe they will feel differently when I come back and share my photos. Maybe they need the visual or the "I know someone who did that". Who knows.
