My first picspam for the picspammy TV Tropes challenge. I know there have only been two episodes so far, but I'm quickly loving this show. Just as a disclaimer, I have never read the books, I've only watched the TV show. So, without further ado, a Pretty Little Liars TV Tropes Picspam.
Blackmail
Alice knows something that Bob doesn't want anyone else to know. So Bob has to do something for Alice so that she doesn't tell anyone.
The girls start receiving mysterious texts, emails and notes from the unknown 'A', who seems to know all their secrets.
Hot For Student

Flashback
A narrative technique in which we're shown events that took place before the episode's main action.
Can be subverted with a flashback to something that didn't actually happen (e.g., the night between Excel and Ropponmatsu #2 in Excel Saga).
Often provides the added bonus of getting actors into period costumes.
Throughout the episodes the girls have various flashbacks to when Alison was still alive.

Super excited for the new episode tomorrow, seriously considering buying the first book. To anyone who has read it, is it as good/better than the show? I started reading The Vampire Diaries after watching the TV Show and I love them both, just in separate ways. I don't think I would have a problem separating the two.
