So I was going through some old stuff my mom had kept. Found one of those community newspapers from when I was in grade six with my picture on the paper. Handing flowers to Prince Charles. I had forgotten that I was the patrol captain chosen to 'welcome' the prince to the legislature. The paper said we were his "honour guard". Some 60 of us lined the path to the legislature after school one day (I remember now that we got the grossest BK burgers afterwards, all of us sitting in the hallway at school)
LMAO! - Probably my only brush with royalty in my life and I had forgotten it happened!
So going through old photos trying to figure out what to keep and what to toss. Some are easy (like the photos from L.A. that show people who I don't know (hostel mates) Some are more difficult. I have a ton of pics from jr. high of classmates and teachers. I don't know if I want to keep some of them because some I forget the names, others I haven't seen or talked to them in ages AND they are random pics so don't really have any frame of reference. Others I remember who they are but since I haven't seen/talked to them in ages I wonder if there is any point in keeping pics.....
Just trying to clear out the old. It's weird how few photos of myself I have from jr. high or high school. I think I only have pics from grade 12 and some from grade 9.
Oh well. I am not really a picture person. Go figure I marry a guy who is obsessive about it. Weird thing is though, that we have a TON of pics on the comp from HIS family get-togethers but we only have a few from MY family get-togethers. Since he's been with me for 5 x-mases now and 6 birthdays I have to say I'm a litle disappointed. Oh well, it's just since my grandma got so ill that I am wishing we'd taken more photos in the years before.
Oh well shit happens.
In other news I have to go out to a restaurant to meet my small group. Not looking forward to it. Our female pastor isn't going to be there so I'll probably have to pray aloud for everyone. Hate doing that. Seriously. it'll be like, dear lord, thanks for this food and this company. Please address the concerns that were raised here today and thanks for the praises that were also raised. Amen. Yay! I have a prayer!
In still other news: Gates' birthday is next week so we bought him a TUMI satchel. OMG - I want one!! They are AWESOME. But they ARE 'expensive'. We paid almost 150 for his. But since i expect it to last at least 5 years (3 year warranty, lifetime agreement of just paying for cost of parts to get any fixes after that) I think it is worth it. He carries around so much crap alllll the time.
