For those of you who need to know, I made it back to Germany just fine. What's more, I got over my jet-lag in a snap- which may have been due to the fact that I was so exhausted that I was HYPER when I finally made it to the apartment...seeing as how I had to haul all of my luggage unassisted from the airport and board a train to Mannheim, jump off at the station and take another to Kaiserslautern, and then one last brief hop to Ramstein, and THEN drag my things down over to the ONLY open taxi service.
...going anywhere on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day is not what I'd call fun. But it was certainly an adventure of some sort. At least the crew on the overseas flight was wacky but amusing- they put on a New Year's celebration that was weird yet cheerful. I guess it wasn't the worst impression of a party I'd ever seen. You guys probably had it better than me though, I'd bet.
Anyway, it's nice to be back home- weather's pretty good (not too cold not too rainy), people were glad to see me back at work, and it was good to BE back at work and business as usual.
Then there's my car. I love my car...I missed my car.
I am so short on things to write about right now. Ah, I suppose I can think of something else later.
That is all.
