The Birthday Meme

Apr 08, 2006 02:22

Go to Wikipedia and look up your birthday (excluding the year). List three neat facts, two births and one death in your journal, including the year.

May 12

Three Facts:

1890 - The first-ever official County Championship match begins. Yorkshire beat Gloucestershire by eight wickets at Bristol. George Ulyett scores the first century in the competition.
1932 - Ten weeks after his abduction, the infant son of Charles Lindbergh is found dead in Hopewell, New Jersey just a few miles from the Lindbergh's home.
1967 - At Queen Elizabeth Hall, England, Pink Floyd stages the first-ever quadraphonic rock concert.

Two Births:

1966 - Stephen Baldwin, American actor
1978 - Jason Biggs, American actor

One Death:

1944 - Q, British writer (b. 1863)

-I love that I have no idea what the first fact is talking about. And I like the word "wickets."

-I like Pink Floyd. And "quadraphonic" sounds way cool. I think I'll use that word a lot now. I don't even know what it means. Something to do with four and sound? Yeah, that's as far as I get with it.

-I want to meet Stephen Baldwin and Jason Biggs just so that I can creepily say, "We share a birthday and that means we're connected."

-How cool is it that this British writer guy was known only as Q? I automatically think of Star Trek. Q was an awesome character.

Good times, good times.

In other news, Arin worked her last night at Mobil. :( Well, she might fill in for people sometimes, but she's done. She has a new job. I'll miss her like crazy. She's such an awesome co-worker. Angie's taking her place. Angie's really nice and cool, but she's different. She's not Arin. Arin and I just clicked. I'm still getting used to Angie. I'm not sure how weird I can be around her. Will she think I'm stupid? I have no idea. And she's a bit older, like in her 40's. Nothing wrong with that, but I have a hard time finding common ground with people older than me. I'm not too bright most of the time, so I'm not very good at intelligent conversations. And I don't know much about the real world because much of my childhood and teen years were spent in a fantasy world. I used to live in my head. I was shy and didn't like strangers and never got out and did stuff. I was a loner who wasn't at all interested in learning anything about real life. So, I have absolutely no street smarts and very little common sense. I'm ignorant and gullible.

But this is turning into something entirely not what I wanted it to be. Basically, I'm sad that Arin's gone. Boohoo, too bad for me. I'll survive. And it doesn't mean the end of Arin's and my friendship. She says I can come over to her place any time. And I'm sure she'll call. And I could call her. And we'll hang out. It'll be all good. And she said she'd visit Mobil and get her gas there, and I can check out her new job. She's a friend for life now.

I started Peter Stormare's letter. It turned out not as pretty as Wentworth's. Oh well. Stupid green pen.

I hope tomorrow is a slow work day.

P.S. Speaking of my birthday, I'll be 21 in 34 days! :)
