The Hebrew Weiner

I forgot to write about a couple of funny things from when I went to see my family a while back. I just want to write them down so they are recorded for posterity.

FYI, the following is funny if you know Jonathan is Jewish.

Admittedly, it's also probably funnier if you were there.

Anyway, as some may know, I'm on a special diet since I'm allergic to a lot of foods. I can eat those foods, but over time I'm looking at a nasty sinus infection if I keep it up. So I try not to eat that stuff too often. Now, I love a good hot dog or sausage. This is problematic because I'm allergic to pork and corn, both of which are in most hot dogs and sausage (the latter is in the form of syrup).

I finally found hot dogs I can eat: Hebrew National. No pork. No corn syrup. Perfect. Low fat version: even better.

So when we went shopping out in Kerrville, I bought that, among other things, and chucked it in Mom's fridge. When my brother and sister-in-law were poking in the fridge for food for my niece, my mom yells from the other room, "JANICE GETS THE HEBREW WEINER!!!".

We all looked at each other and fell on the floor laughing.

And this is why I constantly put my foot in my mouth: it's genetic.
