Ben and I have officially been dating for four years. ... Wow.
I guess a forth anniversary of dating isn't really that exciting, except that it's pretty awesome. It's not one, two, or five which are the big ones of the first five years. And that's not even marriage. But still, four years. Huh. Neat.
We didn't get to celebrate on the actual date, since he had to work in the morning and I had to work in the evening, but our new GM is nice and schedules us with Fridays off together. It's great. So, today being Friday, Ben bought (and brought) me breakfast (yay Klein's!), I took him to dinner at Epic Bistro, which is a high class restaurant downtown that I LOVE, and he treated me to a movie. We saw The Departed, which was really good, although I didn't enjoy the end of it as much as I might have. It made sense, and I don't think the movie would have worked if they'd done it any other way, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. *grins*
I got to wear my coat today, and my cool clothes I got with Kelly at the outlet mall and Ben wore his suit. *dances* It was hot.
On the way home "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" came on the radio and I admitted that I couldn't see the "Liberal propoganda" in most of the album. Ridcule me however you like, it turns out that it's not as obvious as some people made it out to be. I wasn't in the States when the album was being promoted, so I missed the music videos, the interviews, and all of that stuff. Ben put the album in (it was pretty cool that he had it right there in the car) and he went through the hot spots in all the songs. I had forgotten how much I enjoy this album. I can see the "propoganda" of it a bit better now. It was pretty interesting and it started a very neat little debate about politics and propoganda and all that stuff. I love my boyfriend.
In other news, one of the local high schools is doing the "New Diary of Anne Frank." *blinks* The f*ck? How is it "new"? Does she not die in this version? *rolls eyes*
All in all, a great day. *grins*
update,
