Funny. My lj page is all in Italian. So I get to figure out what's what by memory.
I'm back from my weekend in Venice and it was ...something that had to be done. I'm mucho relaxed from my trip, and I'm happy I went, but I guess I should have taken my dad more seriously when he warned me Venice was a disneyland.
point 1) Venice is FULL of tourists. I mean that completely literally. Every day San Marco square is filled with a combination of fat english people and skinny not-english people taking too many photographs. You can barely make your way through the throng. bottom point = not pleasant.
point 2) Venice is absurdly expensive. The people running the businesses there realize the tourists are kind of dumb and therefore they can charge 12 euros for crappy tiny pizzas (speaking from experience here).
point 3) every shop sells the exact same stuff. Though I was very tempted to buy one of those very cool masques and take it to mr van allen just because i could. that or one of the puppets that looked like the one he showed us last year....
I've gotta run now and switch computers but i'll try to come back on soon...
much love
Erin
