Happy Morning Monday

Monday - Got up late today. My clock was set for 6 p.m. not 6 a.m. This really has helped me to feel counter-productive on a Monday morning. Chris slept happily until 10:30. He is home because teachers get every single holiday known to man. I really felt like crawling back into bed with him.

Grammys - I actually watched the Grammys last night and didn't totally hate it. I was bummed that they put the Police on first thing. We came in at the end of the song. Sounded good from what little I heard. The boys are looking good too. Some high lights for me were the John(x2)/Corrine Baily Rea sandwich performance. Nicely done. Also, I liked the song Ludacris chose. I am proud that hip hop is getting a bit of a conscience again (post on that later). I am not a huge country fan, but I LOVED the Eagles tribute. Gnarles Barkley were fun as always. Goes with out saying that I liked seeing the Chili Peppers. I think RHCP's had every bit of confetti in the free-world. On the more annoying side was seeing/hearing Mary J. thank the lord one time too many. Beyoncé just tends to annoy me (she is a pretty thing though), as does miss Shakira. I've got to give Justin Timberlake his due, the boy's got some talent. I do love to watch him dance. Too bad he didn't really do much of that. One performance completely stole the show for me. Christina Aguilera brought home the soul and intensity of James Brown doing "It's A Man's World." HOLY HELL that chick has pipes! That alone was worth sitting through the show.

Rose Bowl Swap Meet - I went alone. It was a good time. I got to walk briskly through the main circle since there weren't many vendors there due to fear of rain. My companions for the day were my cameras and the trusty iPod on random. It picked a nice sound-track for my visit. I wanted to cruse the vendors with new goods to find some unique baby things for my soon to be born baby nephew. Not too much luck since that part of the Rose Bowl that was pretty empty. I did find one baby gift.

There were lots of vendors on the other side selling antiques and old clothes. I looked through them quite a bit. I saw several pieces of furniture to swoon over. Too bad we have no room for any of them here. I did end up finding a great 50's coat. It's actually very light and could perhaps be worn as a dress.

The parking lot section of the Rose Bowl is always a great place to grab some photos. I didn't really get anything good with the digital, but I think I got some great shots with my holga. The people watching is always the best. Yesterday was odd though. I kept seeing these HOT Asian men. They were all funky rebel bohemian types. Bad-boy looks with various types of wild hair. Sporting a disaffected broken-down-chic "just out of bed" style. These boys were the the top 2% of good-looking Asian men. I think there was a convention and they all showed. Hummm, go figure. It was some nice eye candy... I wasn't in a mood to ask them if I could take a photo so I didn't.

Week ended - The rest of my weekend was nice. I relaxed with Chris some. Caught up with a friend or two. I still owe someone a call. I am so forgetful sometimes. Sorry O. I also got some text messages from a friend that made me very happy. I am trying not to get my hopes up too much, but I could be seeing someone I care about deeply very, very soon.
