Army of Addicts!

Danse Macabre was the name of the Guild I was in.

I was one of 5 officers, we had about a hundred members. We were starting to raid Kara, and downed 2 bosses in there.

In a five man, a very nice piece of loot dropped. 2 members rolled for it, one got it, one was sore.

That little prick became a gaping wound, words were said, words like pissy little whore, loot whore, ninja.

There was a gkick. One second later, a loyal friend drops. Showing solidarity, and with more vicious words, unbound by a lost temper, I follow. I believe my parting words in Officer Chat were 'fuck that, and fuck you.'

So now I was a guildless Ronin.

From the mistakes of the past, we decided to make a new Guild, we called it *Addict*, both for the coolness, and the bitter irony.

I had some ideas about how this might become better than all the rest:

The foundation of this guild will be five man platoons, each of which is lead by a platoon commander. Team Salamander, Team Dragon... like that.

Platoon commanders are officer archetypes, and this will be reflected in rank priviledges.

2 platoons makes a 10 man raid. For to raid Karazhan.

2 10 man raids and an elite 5 man make a 25 man raid. For to raid Gruuhl, and Magtherion.

These platoons will be autonomous self contained cells.

This will also be a good pvp configuration, and some toons may also be arena teams.

The breakdown is like this:

1 Guild Master (me) I may or may not be the special forces toon leader.

5 platoons, (4 regular, 1 Special):

Dragon Army (5 man) Special Forces/Raid Enhancement

Salamander Army (5 man) Regular
Rat Army (5 man) Regular
Pheonix Army (5 man) Regular
Fox Army (5 man) Regular

If I can find the right balance of classes, we could perhaps really do some damage. No other guilds are built like this, Ender's Game style.

There can also be platoons of lower levels, less serious. However, belonging to a platoon will still have its benefits, as your platoon will be a natural places to turn to when you need help to do an instance or a group quest, and the platoon commanders will be picked for having knowledge and skill assist thier platoon. Ideally each platoon will be a self-contained well-oiled machine, a component to be added or removed as required.

If the teams are well balanced in terms of class, skill, and availability, it should be a good environment to progress and enjoy the game at various levels.

The experience may also assist me in my bid to rule the universe :D

So, uh, I dunno if any of you read this stuff and are sufficiently geeky to hazard an opinion about so um... *particular* of a topic, lemme know what you think. 'Specially those WoW peeps out there.
