Summertime & New Job
Well, it's been a long time since I've written a blog entry. Been too busy, I guess. So here goes a kinda short update of the last few months.
Well, our exchange student from Germany, Lisa, left on June 15th in the am, and I didn't think I would get so emotional over her leaving, but I did. She's been like a little sister (in both the positive and negative ways) to me for 9 months. You take people for granted sometimes. She was really sad to leave her friends and us. She had a really strong connection with my mom, and the polar opposite with my sister, Jenna.
So, Vince and Natalya had their baby on June 15th, Father's Day. They had a baby boy, and his name is Vitali. He is so cute, and Dwight and I visited them at the hospital. Vitali doesn't look like one of them over the other one. His nose is definitely Vince's nose, though. Natalya had pretty bad contractions during the delivery. How exciting to have a new baby. I'm very happy for them.
So I recently got hired at FedEx Express, and so did Dwight! I'm super excited to work there, the pay is great, the benefits are awesome, and I kinda wanted to have a physical job for awhile after my last job. I'm in a different job than Dwight. I got placed in a higher paying position because of my experience at Costco. Dwight is working in my brother, Chase's department. We just completed a week of training, and I start really working on Monday.
I recently went out to lunch with Meaghan, which I was super excited about! We met at Moose's Tooth for a early afternoon lunch. I haven't even seen Meaghan since Tim died, so it's been almost 3 years! We had so much to catch up on, and I'm glad that she was just as happy to see me as I was to see her. She has a pretty stressful and time-consuming job with ACS still. It's kind of weird, we both have been working with kids for the last few years. Mine were toddlers and babies, and hers are teenagers.
The week before that I went to Carrie's birthday party and met up with a few more people than I thought I would. Talked to Jaedon & Dane for a long time. Kind of cool to see people I haven't seen in forever. A few possible plans came out of that, maybe meeting up with Adrian, and having lunch with Carrie, or something.
Oh, yeah, about a month ago Jenna and my mom had a bit of a fight, and so now Jenna is living with my dad. I'm pretty sure the whole thing stemmed from Jenna, but she doesn't think she did anything wrong (or at least she doesn't want to admit it). She took 90% of her stuff, and her cat, Misty, with her. She seems happy enough over there, so maybe this was a good change. We'll see.
