What's going on with me.. new job... bronchitis.. etc..
So I have written anything since December.. A lot of stuff has happened.
First off, I got a job with the Anchorage School District. I was hired as a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant at Mountain View Elementary School. It's 3 and a half hours a day. When the first day of work came around, the principal (cool guy, Mr. LeBlanc), tells me that I will be with the 1st graders. I am loving it!! I move in-between three different classes, Ms. Kraushaar, Mrs. O'Blenness, and Mrs. Chamberlin. They separate the kids for different subjects. Such as for Reading, the kids are separated into high, medium, and low. Then when it's time for Math, the kids all re-arrange into their respective categories. It's a good way of making sure you haven't totally lost some kids. SOOOO, in all, my main job is 1.) helping the kids with their work (ie, understanding) and 2.) making copies. A few of the kids that I absolutely love are Callie, Blessing, Emani, Glacier, Joseph, and Preston. This job is so rewarding, I love it when they really don't understand it and I help that through it, put it in a different way, or get them to think along a different path.. and they figure it out all by themselves... it's great.
Second, I have been sick for three weeks.. The rewards of working at a school. For the first two weeks, no problem.. Then, last Friday, I got really really sick. Got these really really bad coughs.. they were so deep.. I got a really bad congested nose, and that gave me the worst headache I have ever had. I took loads of medicine, lots of sleep, nothing worked.. Finally I went to the doctor's on Wednesday.. She gave me lots of drugs.. 4 prescriptions. Said I had bronchitis and sinusitis (?)... She said if the coughing persisted, I needed to come back in for a chest x-ray in three weeks. After one night I felt ENORMOUSLY better. Thank god. I'm still not feeling awesome, but definitely better than last weekend. (I proceeded to get everyone around me sick with the lesser sickness of the first two weeks... Dwight, my sister, my brother, my mom).
Other than that.. Everything is great.
Duma, my birthday kitten, is growing like a weed, and she is the sweetest cat I have ever met (that's saying a lot coming from me). In the middle of the night she wants to lick my face, and no matter how many times I turn away from her, she just jumps over me and licks me some more. She actually comes when I call (just me). And whenever I'm up late on the computer, she will either come sleep in my lap, or climb on top of my monitor and watch my face until she zonks out. She is also head-over-heals in love with our fluffy white 2-year old male cat, Dusty.
I spend as much time as I can with Dwight, every day after work, and I stay over there all weekend if I can (except for the past two when I was sick). If we're not together or working, we're watching our favorite tv shows together on the phone. He is a whiz with graphics on myspace.. He made my halo contact table, and every single one of my videos (except the cat ones).
Umm, I love finding old friends on myspace... it's a bit of an obsession. Now I have a double-obsession, I have found Facebook, which is a less-cool myspace with an emphasis on photos (which I love, if you didn't know).
