The nerve...
As usual, my brother broke his laptop. He came screaming and paniking into my room and would not shut up until I fixed his problem. He had downloaded a dialer from some prOn site and it had hijacked the internet dial up.
He did all this at 1:30 am.
Its times like this that I wish I could not fix computers. When people take you from doing something important, sleep, for example, to fix something which their own ignorence has bought on them. On the other hand, it was sort of funny seeing him. He acts like he's tough all the time, which gets incredibly annoying. Watching him carry on like a big girl was sort of worth it. As it turns out, I could fix the computer in my sleep. Literally.
On a better note, I recieved word that my unemployment may soon come to an end. Annoyingly, I heard it from a freind of my mothers, who happens to be about 800km west of here. I had him listed as a reference and he recieved a call. After the interview, they let slip that I will probably get the job. The timing is perfect [/sarcasm]. I start university properly on Monday. They will probably need me full time. It took six months, but things are finally starting to go my way.
In addition, I just won a round against a major phone company. I had put an application in with them for broadband internet. An application which I cancelled almost immediatly. Still, they sent me the modem kit, which I promptly sent back as they required. Three months later, there is still no responce. I call them to ask whats going on, they say they did not recieve the modem. It got lost in the mail. After a breif argument and a lot of hold time, they finally removed the ADSL codes from my line. I get broadband on Teusday, Hooray!
Finally, for a really crappy site that is good for one or two laughs, go to bash.org. No link, I couldn't be bothered remembering Html right now.
