Yesterday was my birthday and I spent it in Lincoln with my parents since I had to be here anyway for an eye appointment this afternoon.
We (my mom and I) first started the day by going to this house (technically a mansion...this place was huge!) of a family who owns some land in the country and grows pumpkins. Then they bring them to their home and place all these pumpkins out in their driveway and sell them for low prices. Each small pumpkin costs .50 or $1 and the larger ones cost $2-$4. Needless to say Mom and I each bought a bunch of pumpkins. They had the normal orange ones you always see around Halloween, but they also had white pumpkins, light blue pumpkins, warty pumpkins, green pumpkins that look like a snake coming out of an urn, small pumpkins, and gourds. (I will post pics soon!)
We were going to end our day with picking out pumpkins, but since the sky was gray and it looked like it was going to rain, we decided to do it first. Good thing too because by the time we were done with everything, it started to pour! Luckily it was only sprinkling when we did our shopping at South Pointe, an outdoor shopping plaza.
There I bought some cute new things at White House Black Market: two pairs of jeans - one slim cut and the other bootleg cut (they were having a buy one pair of jeans, get the second pair half off sale), a pair of black leggings and two tops: one is a gray sweater with the silhoutte of two black cats and the other was a a sweater with white, black, gray, and teal stripes.
Striped sweater.
Cat sweater.
I paid for the cat sweater and leggings and Mom bought me the other stuff as a birthday present. I used my $10 off birthday coupon and the saleswoman asked me when my birthday was and I'm like, "Today!"
We also looked around Banana Republic and the Bath and Body Works, but didn't buy anything. Our last stop was Barnes and Noble where I bought Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner and before we left we stopped at the cafe and I got a pumpkin spice latte and Mom got a vanilla latte.
For dinner we went to an Asian place called Issara. I had a Bangkok Cosmo (with vodka, triple sec, lime, ginger, and basil) and Royal Curry Duck. The duck was nice and tender, but it was a bit of a spicy dish so I would often have to grab a bite of my white rice on the side.
We had chocolate birthday cake Mom made and I opened my present which was a pair of pajamas.
