Christmas = A plastic man singing about Belgians.

So, chamekke (hello, you! <3) posted some Christmas music the other day... And I thought that was a lovely idea. I am, however, under the influence of some whiskey, at least ten pink wafers and half a bar of dark (and so quite caffinated) chocolate. So my choices of songs may be a little wonky.

Now, of course there are many, many Christmas songs that I've grown up with and love to death. But there're a few I've heard in the last few years that I'm definitely going to revisit this year. And here they are:

Firstly, a song by a man who is nothing more than a plastic head inside a TV. I only discovered this a couple of years ago when I stumbled upon it while channel-flicking. I almost died from the hilarity. Standout lyrics include the last section of the video, where they put the TV in front of a piano and he starts gibbering his undying love for the fat, bearded fella!

Next, a little-known Christmas song by Paul McCartney. (it was banned, you know).

And lastly, how could I forget last year's official Christmas number one? I'm not kidding... My family cracked out the guitars and we actually had a Boxing Day singalong to this last year. I specifically remember the timing of the pauses being difficult to master when full of champagne, Baileys and wine.

During the summer, I DID plan to somehow record a Life on Mars version of the whole "Partridge in a Pear Tree" thing to put out at Christmas this year, but I think I'll have to reserve that for next year :). Another thing to work on when I finish uni! The list is growing long! :D
