afaik there's no actual street called Saks (but I'm not an expert on NYC geography, despite living there for several years, so I could be completely wrong!). My real issue was that I got distracted thinking, "where on 5th avenue are they eating lunch?" (and thinking about breaking out the Zagat guide and finding possibilities) and "Where exactly is their apartment?", which not at all the point of the story, I imagine, and which is really my problem (my obsession with geography) and not at all a problem with the story! :)
Also I found myself mentally admonishing Arthur for making Eames go all the way to JFK to pick him up, when Arthur is fully capable of taking a taxi by himself. And then I realized that I made my boyfriend take the subway to JFK to pick me up from a flight once, and accompany me back home on the subway, and then I realized that I am a terrible person, and that Eames was very sweet to go all the way to the airport for Arthur.
Ok, I'll stop with my useless rambling, and just let you know again that I loved your story and I'm currently giving it happy internet hugs. :)
dflksjfklj my beta and I missed that! Thank you! It was supposed to Fifth Ave. but at the time I was thinking of SAKS the store! Aaa this is wildly embarrassing. I think I shall substitute on Saks for near Saks. Will that make semblance of sense at least? D:
I SHALL EDIT THAT I PROMISE... IN THE FUTURE >_> But no what I want to know is, is it plausible that they traveled from Glasgow to Bristol in less than a day? Maybe they flew, IDK. D:
Don't hate being Southeast Asian! It would be terribly impractical if we were all from the same place. ;)
You can drive from Glasgow to Bristol in less than a day, but it would take hours and hours and hours. There are also flights operating from Glasgow to Bristol, so it's not entirely incomprehensible that they should have got there somehow. However, it struck me, as a native, somewhat incongruous. If Eames's flat was in Edinburgh, this would make more sense!
