2 bottles of champagne

New Year's Eve was spent with my sister, BiL, niece and her boyfriend playing cards and having some cocktails with Ed being my DD.  All was well with the world.

Then....Friday night drinking for Ed turned into one big disaster!  I came into his bathroom with blue water all over the floor and him naked and not being able to tell me how to turn the water off (I know...every woman should KNOW this stuff).  I hurridly ran up the stairs and called our neighbor (and friend) Gary who came to my rescue.  I had to put Ed into my bathrobe and sit his @$$ down on the steps while I mopped up water until Gary got here and he then squeeged the water from the bathroom into the utility room where there is a drain and the furnace. But..there was an alarm sounding that Gary couldn't figure out....he unplugged our smoke detectors AND checked the breaker box...Ed ended up going upstairs and I went up to get my phone to call the fire department so they could figure out what was going on and Ed was lying on the floor in the hallway!  He did finally make it to bed while Gary was trying to figure things out. By the time the fire department got here (thankfully with NO sirens blaring) ... Ed had put himself to bed completely naked. (he sleeps in underwear and a t-shirt).

The alarm was a "flood alarm" ... unbeknowest to me, Ed had one in the room....it got wet and did it's job.

Firefighters then let Gary and I know that the toilet tank had a crack in it. I'm surmising now that Ed fell into the toilet, cracked the tank and the rest is history.

Very embarassing (but I am thankful I did have a friend to call on for help). Maybe Ed is going to realize he does have a problem..although he said it was the TWO bottles of champagne he drank on top of some beer.  oy vey!

Consequence....buying and installing a new toilet (or tank...or however he's going to fix it)....I hope that he does think about this.  After I told him the excitement, he wanted to know if I was leaving.....hmmmmm....20 years relationship for his 2nd fuck up in the last 6 months (the first being scraping my new Equinox against the garage door in the early summer after having too many beers) ... No, I told him, but I hope this is HIS wake up call.

On better news for the New Year, my niece Kristina is engaged!  Kelsie is happy for her older sister, but was a bit upset in that Kristina's ring is "like the one I want when Bryan and I get engaged..."  I love my God-daughter to pieces!  Kelsie will find something else when her time comes.

So..LJ is the place where it's safe for me to write this stuff since who comes here anymore?  And my friends who DO...well, you're my friends and I know if the spirit moves you, you will respond in kindness and words of comfort or encouragement!
