WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25th has been proclaimed the National Call-In Day For Reproductive Choice.
We need a strong pro-choice showing in the phone calls that your members of Congress receive tomorrow (because they HAVE been hearing from the other side!).
WHY CALL YOUR CONGRESSPERSONS?
As you know, the Supreme Court last week upheld the Federal Abortion Ban, the nation's first federal ban on an abortion procedure. This law is so vaguely written that it may ban the most common abortion procedure used after 12 weeks of pregnancy. Worse, there is no exception when a woman's health is in danger.
In addition to vigilantly opposing abortion restrictions that are proposed in our state houses, we need a federal law that will protect this right and place it beyond the reach of individual state legislatures.
The Freedom of Choice Act would do just that. The Act would guarantee that women can exercise the reproductive freedom that was promised in Roe v. Wade and additionally would preserve that freedom should Roe be overturned by the new 5-4 anti-abortion majority on the Supreme Court.
WHAT TO DO:
Call your members of Congress. Ask them to codify Roe v Wade, in order to prevent the erosion of reproductive choice in this country.
It won't take more than a couple minutes! It's SO important that you do this, if you can.
(If you're afraid to talk to someone in person, call before or after work hours and leave a message for them.)

WHERE TO CALL:
-The switchboard at (202) 224-3121, ask to be connected to each of your two Senators and to your Representative.
-or! use NOW's handy directory to find out (via your zip code where you're registered to vote) the numbers of your Representative and Senators.

"Please cosponsor the Freedom of Choice Act (H.R.1964/S.1173) to codify Roe v. Wade and guarantee the right to choose for future generations of women."

Ask for the staff person who handles this issue, and request politely that the member co-sponsor the Freedom of Choice Act.
(If your Senator or Representative is already a co-sponsor, make sure to say thank you!)
