Mmmmm...

So I cannot seem to decide here, whether to take a risk and get the Palm Pre... or to be safe and get the iPhone... I'd be paying less monthly for the Pre... and about the same between the prices of the phones themselves... hmmmm... what a tough decision! And yes, I know, this is one of the most superficial and boring posts I've ever made, right? I ( Read more... )

IPhone is nice..plus you already use itunes as your main mp3 software.

The bad thing about IPhone is the added $30+ bucks a month for all you can eat internets and texting.

No tethering on the iphone either.

App store is meh IMO. Lots of crap to get through. And most app are unnecessary and using the web browser can handle most needs.

If Iphone supported flash you wouldn't need 3/4 of the apps out there.

I don't know anything about the Pre. The guys I work with all have IPhones and mostly like them.

Personally I like my phone to be a phone. So I don't get most of the enthusiasm for a tech device that is a meh phone, meh camera, meh internet, and meh apps all in one device.

The IPhone also uses AT&T..I don't mind them personally, but I know some people don't like AT&T.

Yeah, I completely hear ya on the overabundance of apps... but I do want a Smartphone. I want the GPS, the media player functionality, the email, the intertubes, and the texting.

I agree that the extra money on the AT&T service plan is a big red mark. Plus, EVERYONE that I know that lives in Chicago that has an iPhone constantly complains about the 3G service being spotty.

At this moment, I am leaning toward the Palm Pre for three reasons:

  1. The service plan is about what you said, $30 cheaper.
  2. I've been with Sprint for 10 years... and because of this, my Nights & Weekends Minutes start at 6pm.
  3. The Sprint 3G network has much better coverage, and nearly no dead zones... even if it is a little bit slower than AT&T.
