Yes, I can see the whole picture. And yes, that is a hybrid modem/router... so that is good news. You can do port forwarding through that as far as I can tell from the manual that I downloaded in PDF format. However, the language is all in Italian so I may not be reading everything perfectly... but here is what you need to do to port forward as far as I can tell

What is NAPT? Is that port forwarding?? Because it has a button for me to add one of those OR add something under "Virtual Server" menu which would create a new line which would have the following info: a name, a MAC address, local IP address, local port, public port, internet protocol. That's what the direct translation is anyway.
okay, I went to add something under the Virtual Server menu and it says you have to do the NAPT thing first. It also gives me a warning that this would enable others to have direct access to my computer, so I'm guessing this is the right thing

Yay! I think I did. I THINK. I had to set up a NAPT thingy first, simple Then I had to go to the Virtual Sevrer part and plug in the port I decided over at the torrent program into there. And then save my changes and voila! I hope I hope I hope
Not to be a buzz-kill, but the stuff that you wrote up there doesn't really sound familiar to me. However, I haven't really done port forwarding on a combo router/modem... so it is hard to say what's right and wrong from my perspective. I wish I could give you a better idea of what is up... but I don't think I'll be able to at this point. I will mull it over some more.
My download speed significantly improved. and some people uploaded while I was on there... but the upload speed still seems slow, and I still have a yellow ! caution triangle. However, there are indeed people uploading off me becuase my "ratio" or whatever (as time goes on after I've completed my download) continues to improve. I dunno... we'll see. I'm looking into the yellow caution triangle issue.
Hmm. The yellow triangle should go away if everything is in order. Are you a member of a private torrent site that keeps track of ratios? It is often a problem to keep those ratios up... When torrenting from public sites, I always seed back to at least 1.5... when from private sites, I always seed back to 2.0+. What does the yellow triangle say exactly?
