Captain's Log: Earth Date May 16, 2005
I have been trapped here on this planet for 22 years now. Eagerly awaiting the return of my people, and my subsequent removal from this horrible planet. This place of fear and anger and superstition. Such a primitive race dwells on this planet...a group of thuggish...brutish creatures...with almost no thought power at all. All except one...a girl. No, not just a girl...the most lovely...intelligent...caring...warm...funny...beautiful girl I have ever had the pleasure to speak to in my entire life. She is quickly becoming my whole life...and instead of being afraid of that...I cherish it...I welcome it with open arms. I don't know why I am so suprised though...had I become that jaded? Had society's ideas of how love should be...and how physical attraction was the complete ruler of the mating habits of the human race been beaten into me so completely that I lost all sense of reality? This girl has completely captured my heart...in a matter of days. Had Hollywood's idea of the everyday hero been so engrained in my mind that I forgot that to be a hero to just one person is to live the life of a billion heroes before you? To hold her when she's sad...to kiss her forehead while she cries...to kiss her nose when she's angry...to cuddle her so that she's feels safe and warm and loved. To wake up and whisper into her ear that you love her and you'll never let anyone hurt her. Maybe I will never be a Captain Kirk...or a Luke Skywalker...or a Han Solo...or a Colonel O'Neill...but I have a chance to be a hero now...as me...Brian Edward Hamilton. I have my chance...to be her hero. To show her that some men are honorable...and caring...and feeling...and most of all loyal. I love her so much...and I hope she knows it. I hope the feeling of it wraps around her and completely melts her heart...and no matter where I am I'm thinking about her and smiling at some private joke shared between us...or longing for her touch...her kiss. I hope she knows. I may never step on board the Enterprise on a 5 year mission...and I might never walk through the Stargate and battle across the universe. I may never board a viper and launch off the deck of the Battlestar Galactica. No I WILL NEVER have these...but I have her. And that's all I need. I'm her hero. So watch out. There's a hero in the room. Recognize.
