Heh. I sell video games for a living (or to supplement it, anyway). I work at one of Massachusetts' last remaining independent game shops: no Barnes & Noble asshattery for me!
Usually, I'm right at home behind the counter, with Facebones on the counter in front of me (as the entire shop is a wi-fi hot spot, and, for now, I'm doing most of my posting from work, as my home connection seems to have temporarily disappeared). Most of the shop's pricing and displays are done by yours truly.
Most customers don't get under my skin, as we tend to attract a more literate (or at the very least, more well-informed) breed of gamer. Trade-ins are always a delight, as you never know what people are going to be bringing into the shop next: last week saw Famicom disks, a copy of Sweet Home, and a WonderSwan Crystal, for instance...
Salem, MA is technically a city, albeit a small one. I live in a quiet neighborhood about a block from the Salem Commons park. Mine is a pseudo-studio, meaning that it's a shared bathroom out in the hall. That, I don't mind so much, save when the neighbors are being drunken pigs... >_<
Salem's actually a pretty nice place to live, it's just that between September and November, the place turns into an utter tourist madhouse, what with the Halloween season and all (it's not called the Witch City for nothing, you know)...
I actually miss California; I lived in Sacramento during 1995. Granted, I had two jobs and still really couldn't pay the rent, but I miss the weather. 50 degrees the low in winter? FUCK YEAH!
Hmm. I don't do nearly as much reading as I used to in my younger years (I once had a sci-fi collection so large it threatened to tilt the house; you could place a ball bearing on the floor by the door, and it would slowly, but inexorably, roll to the outside wall)...
When I do read print items, it's either a newspaper or work-related (video game magazines, etc.). Most of my reading these days is from internet articles; I usually stay within my fandom(s), with some browsing of *chans, Wikipedia, etc. I don't have a lot of free time these days, as my life seems to revolve around my work...
I'd love to have the time to curl up with a good sci-fi or fantasy book (I've been putting off the reading of SPIT until I have sufficient time, and I feel horrible about that... sorry, Rattie!) ;_;
(Oh, and "Hi" is a perfect place to start... what is it that they say... "every journey begins with a single step"?)
Okay, because I can not be normal here is my question: please explain whether or not you would have a direct up link to the web through an experimental node placed along your spinal column that would allow to completely immerse yourself online and into your game console?
((Just so you know I would be the first on on the list.))
Oh, I would, I would. Insofar as I am concerned, the body is simply a shell; using it as a conduit to the internet or to my favorite MMO would be of little consequence to me, save for if it caused me constant pain, or something.

It's going to take a lot to pry me from my post.

Hi! *waves shyly*
What types of material do you like to read (books, magazines, Internet articles, etc.) and what genre do you most prefer?
