Oh, no doubt. But the only Jedi capable of taking Sidious out was, at that time, Mace Windu. Vapaad, as the seventh form of Lightsaber Dueling, uses anger as a weapon and dances on the edge of the Dark Side. You take a bit of the Sith's anger/Dark Side into you and reflect it back at them. The stronger the Sith, the more Vapaad is effective.
Therefore, if Anakin hadn't interfered, Mace Windu would have succeeded. Of course, this means that the Force would not have been brought into balance and things would have progressively become worse due to the Jedi's increasing arrogance and eventual corruptibility.
*laughs* Like anyone actually expected a Weequay to be able to sufficiently keep their irascible nature in check well enough to master Vapaad, instead of being mastered by it. Feh. ;)
Gah. That's a tough one. Shien/Djem So would be fun, but it's a bit on the aggressive side. If I was staying Light Side, it would be Soresu for myself, only because one's defense is nigh on impeccable when it's mastered.
Though I wish they'd actually gone into what Form Qui-Gon used. I imagine that he used Shien, but there was definitely something else involved.
Hrm... Star Wars icon... That is an idea I can get behind. :D
Ah ha. That makes sense. Of course, devoting oneself entirely to one form has drawbacks. Personally, Vaapad does have "bad motherf**ker" written all over it. :D
