Choosing a Church - any suggestions?

So, ok, maybe my Druid phase has passed and I have moved on again cos my faith in Christ has really come back this past month.

After the convent weekend and chatting to a Spiritualist Christian friend and an evangelical friend, I am wondering , hmm, no, being stirred to join a church on a more regular basis.  This is not something I take lightly as in my past I took a very disciplined approach to church attendence as advocated by the priest.  I went every sunday, joined the PCC, led services, preached and was part of the music group. I was part of a home group too which was so successful the priest decided it should be split in two for more people to join. I was asked to co lead!  But then I began to fall out with the church cos I wanted to explore ideas considered unorthodox. Finally I decided to leave. This was about 5yrs ago. Since the I have drifted from church to church, and of course,  joined a few pagan rituals along the way!

So in my village there the following churches : Roman Catholic, Church of England, Methodist, Baptist, and the JWs.   I have attended the C of E church all my life off and on. Its my Mother's church and so I wouldnt really be able to be that open of my unorthodox practices / ideas.   They are nearly high church style but quite traditional.  The methodist church has a really aged congregation, the RC's don't agree with women priests but do venerate Mary. The baptists are waaay to charasmatic and would probably want to do deliverance prayer over me (not nice) and i'm not even going to consider the JWs!!

My friends Spiritualist church sounds interesting although their main aim seems to be about proving the existence of life after death - so not sure how much their worship is about Christ.

I could go back to my church in the next village and back to my old friends who haven't spoken to me since i left (yeah , great 'friends')  But they say never go back.  I think if i did i would be opening old wounds.

Just how can I get back into going to Church?
