Whenever I flip channels to the Olympics it's always the fucking curling

This entry hath three sections. Like an exam.

Section one: a meme

This meme is awesome! You should all do it.

Voice posts are fun, right? You get to hear funny accents if your friends are from far, far away. All we really want is to hear your voice, we don't care what you're saying. So here's a list of typical meme questions that would otherwise be boring, but when communicated aloud - well, it's entertaining. Answer these questions in your post, and encourage others with voice-posting abilities to do the same.

1) What's your name?
2) How old are you?
3) Where are you from? Are you living there right now?
4) Is it cold where you are?
5) What's the time?
6) What are you wearing?
7) What was the last thing you listened to?
8) What was the last thing you ate?
9) What was the last thing you watched on tv?
10) What's your favorite tv show? Why?
11) Quick! Find a book, or something with text on it! Flip to a random page and read some of it! GO!
12) What was the last movie you saw? How was it?
13) Do YOU think you have an accent? Talk about that.

And here are my answers! Click to hear them. It's a bit rushed, because I was worried about the file being too big and also because the first, like, four attempts fucked up so I have answered these questions a bunch of times already.

Also, as a bonus, here are the mini voice posts I ended up recording a couple of nights ago (mainly for the benefit of aldehyde):

+ Me reading a section from a sex book in my regular voice
+ Me reading a section from a sex book in a rather sketchy Plymouth accent

Section two: crafty things

At the weekend I went to London for my big brother's birthday, and there's a whole 'nother post in that but I'm not going to go there because I can't be arsed to rehash the wank - anyway, so I was staying with my baby sister in Hackney, and on the way to hers I passed the most epic stall ever, selling beautiful antique ink stamps. I bought three in the end - one of a ball of wool and needles, one of an ornate key and one of an illuminated letter M. They are awesome.

And while we're on the subject of crafty things, here are some more resin brooches I've made recently.

Section three: miscellaneous

+ John Barrowman records a song about Captain Jack's relationship with the Doctor. You can listen to the first verse or two at that link! It's called "The Doctor and I" and is a reworking of "The Wizard and I" from Wicked. It's a filk, effectively, only sung by the actual actor involved and blatantly slashy. I very much like that it exists. :D

+ Snake Oil chart from Information is Beautiful. This is great. It is an interactive graphic which illustrates the effectiveness of many popular supplements, and what they are actually used for. I like it a lot.

+ Finally, the most disturbing Freecycle ad I've seen in a while:

What. The. Fuck.

memey goodness, doctore whu, science, dangerous chemicals, wtf, miscellany, meatspace, craft, torchw00t
