Bored. Uninspired. Writer's block in the first degree. Have a meme!

spacefragments The dude in the icon is Richey Edwards from the Manic Street Preachers, who were my very favourite band for a long time. They were also, I think, the thing that first made me sit up and go "Holy balls, two guys together is hot", mainly because of
this video. Anyway, in their early days the band used to wear shirts with spray-painted slogans on them, and the text on this icon is one of those slogans: all rock and roll is homosexual, apparently.
Nothing clever about this one, it's just a seagull. I can't remember if I took this picture or if I found it online. Seagulls are, in my view, one of the most evil species on earth. LOOK AT ITS MAD STARING EYES. Also, when I was about 3, a seagull SNATCHED my egg sandwich out of my hand at Paignton Zoo! D:
The image comes from the GoF movie, where Harry first sees the inside of the tent that is bigger on the inside. I just thought this was hilarious. Aw, Harry, you're so dumb.
More LOLs at the expense of Harry Potter. I was about to comment on how it's kind of unrealistic that there isn't any wanking in the books, except that a) IT'S ABOUT WIZARDS AND APPARENTLY I CAN HANDLE THAT and b) I think there are one or two veiled references to it (specifically, there's a scene in OotP where Cho is crying and the line is something like "Whenever Harry had pictured this scene, he had always imagined a Cho who was enjoying herself". O RLY?).
For all that I spend most of my time at work ordering stuff for people and installing stats programs, my official job title is Lab Technician. Being a female lab technician can be interesting - from time to time I have been explicitly told that I can't help someone with something, then they ask my (male) co-worker to do it and I totally could have done it by myself - but I do like my job, and I like being a techie. Can't remember where I found this image - possibly boingboing.net? It appealed, anyway.
I like Marxist feminism. It's one of my favourite kinds of feminism (although I don't agree with every one of its tenets). I was going to whack in an explanation of it here, but it got long. (Uh... long story short, the more rich/white/male/able-bodied/straight you are, the easier you have it, which sucks for everyone else.)
Batch #2 from
o_deanna A very crude gag based on
Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan. Go
here to see the relevant bit. Basically, William Shatner yells "Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!" and it is funny. Here is Dan Radcliffe with his mouth open. I am easily pleased.
This is also a Star Trek reference - from the animated series. I've never seen the animated series, I just thought the icon was funny (and useful to use when commenting on Deathly Hallows and its ridiculous camping chapters).
Fun fact: I have watched one episode of Star Trek in my life, and have never seen any of the original series.
Another fun fact: I'm still gonna see the film. ZACHARY QUINTO UNF UNF UNF
Ozymandias! ♥ I liked him enough in the original graphic novel version of Watchmen, but there was something extra-special about him in the movie. A large part of this is how very very gay he was. Awesome. Anyway, in the movie there is a hidden easter egg of sorts, in that his computer desktop has a "boys" folder on it (as I said, very very gay) and therefore, I made this icon to use when I need to express approval of homoerotic things.
Luna Lovegood is made of win. Not only is she unique and clever and funny and weird and perceptive and interesting and herself, SHE WEARS CONVERSE! Best of all, I almost bought these exact shoes once (although I went for cream ones with monsters on in the end). Also, I liked this scene in OotP, both the movie and the book - I love Luna in general, and I loved her for understanding Harry and making him feel better. Aww, Luna. ♥
LOL, I love this icon. The shot (obviously minus the Gay Bar part) is from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, when R2 and Threepio approach Jabba's palace.
I might delete this one, because I hardly ever use it - not least because there's a typo on it (it should be "woollen", not "woolen" - god that's so pedantic though). Anyway, let's face it, this is probably closer to what Dumbledore sees in the mirror of erised, amirite?
As before, if you want to play, say so in the comments.
